Fowler hosted the Santa Fe League Wrestling Dual on Thursday, Jan. 12, with 8 teams participating. Among those were: Swink, Crowley County, John Mall, Rocky Ford, Las Animas, Rye and Manzanola.
The teams were split into two pools, Pool A consisted of Fowler, Swink, Crowley County and John Mall. Pool B teams were Rocky Ford, Las Animas, Rye and Manzanola.
Fowler scores are as follows: Fowler 48 v Swink 24, Fowler 57 v John Mall 9, Fowler 66 v Las Animas 12, Fowler 60 v Crowley County 12.
As a spectator, it was impressive watching the Grizzlies as they racked up over 12 pins during the competition. Brandon Grasmick beat the defending State Champion Ray Rodriguez from Rocky Ford in the championship round by a decision of 4-0. Zach DuVall was pinning and grinning all night long.
"They did well, but we still have a lot of work to do, we can't lose close matches if we want to compete with a team like Rocky Ford. We are giving up a lot of points with forfeits and that doesn't help," said Coach Clint Chamblin.

Championship—Rocky Ford def. Fowler 47-15; Third place—Swink def. Las Animas 65-12; Fifth—Rye def. Crowley County 32-24; Seventh—John Mall def. Manzanola 30-18.
