At approximately 1 p.m. Saturday afternoon Fowler Volunteer Fire Department, Fowler Police and Colorado State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle accident east of Fowler. According to eye witnesses, Karen Schiffer, Fowler, was westbound on Highway 50 east of the Stockman Restaurant in a GMC pick-up when a PT Cruiser crossed the center line crashing into the driver side of Schiffer's vehicle. Schiffer, who was wearing a seat belt, was spun across the grassy median, coming to a stop blocking the east end of Santa Fe Avenue. The PT Cruiser came to rest facing north on the north side of the highway. Schiffer was uninjured but the unnamed driver of the PT Cruiser was transported to a Pueblo hospital by Fowler ambulance. As of press time a state patrol report was unavailable.
