The fall 2010 sports season swung back into action as the Fowler golfers practiced several days then began competing the same week. Coaches Mark Sharp and Kevin Hagerman welcomed 15 eager Grizzlies to compete for spots on the team.
Returning to lead the Grizzlies was sophomore Brandon Grasmick who lettered last season and represented Fowler at regionals. Two other seasoned golfers were senior Cody Cesar and junior, Kyle McFarland. They both played two sports (football and golf) so their playing time was limited in golf and they failed to letter by a point.  Senior PJ O’Connell lettered at Las Animas last season.
 Seniors listed on the roll are Nico Berger, Cody Cesar, Mikkel Hansen, Tyler Norris, PJ O’Connell, Tyler Waggoner, and Vitor Yogi;  juniors are Joe Carey, Ethan Fedde and Kyle McFarland; sophomores include James Baca and Brandon Grasmick; and freshmen are Nathan Baylor, Dean Klinkerman and Scott Milberger.
 The foursome of Brandon Grasmick, 94, Dean Klinkerman, 97, Kyle McFarland, 98, and PJ O’Connell, 101, placed second as a team at the Rye SFL tourney last Thursday with 288 points.  Winning the tourney was Rye with 222 and John Mall placed  third with 290.
 On Friday they entered two teams in the Fowler Invitational.  Team No. 1 placed first with 276, John Mall, 280, Canon City, 287, Cheyenne Wells, 298, Salida, 317, Swink, 323, Eads, 327, Rocky Ford, 331, Delores Huerta, 332, Pueblo County, 334, Las Animas, 334, Rye, 336, Lamar, 354 and  Fowler, 368.  Medalists were: Justin Eccher, John Mall, 84; Brandon Grasmick, Fowler 87; Landen Esrey, Cheyenne Wells, 88; Michael Maldonado, John Mall, 88; and Kyle McFarland, Fowler, 95.
 Fowler’s team No. 1 scores were Brandon Grasmick, 87, Kyle McFarland, 95,  Dean Klinkerman, 96 and P.J. O’Connell, 101.  On Team  No. 2   Cody Cesar led with 106, Scott Milberger, 129, Ethan Fedde, 131 and James Baca 132.
 Next week will be busy. On Monday Fowler will compete at the Lamar Tournament, Tuesday at La Junta and Swink Tournament and Friday at the Eads Tournament.
