Leona Fae Stubbs Stafford went to be with the Lord Jan. 10, 2010 while residing at Woodland Place, an assisted living facility in Southside, Alabama. She was born June 26, 1935 in Fowler. She raised four children and was a homemaker for many years. After raising her children, she ran a successful business. She was a member of CrossPoint Community Church. She was a wonderful Christian woman and a fine example to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Randy (Beverly) Stafford of Rainbow City, Alabama, daughters, Rhonda (Mark) Warner of Suwane, Georgia, Brenda (Daniel) Holzer of Conyers, Georgia and Lynn (Mitch) Allen of Alpine, Alabama. Brothers, Edwin (Ina) Stubbs of Lebanon, Missouri, and Gary (Jane) Stubbs of Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Sisters, Wilma (V.O.) Swedhin of Rocky Ford, and Sally Saunders of Ogallala, Nebraska and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Harris Stubbs of Fowler and father, Earl Stubbs of Pueblo.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Village Chapel, 101 Vandell Blvd., Gadsden, Alabama 35904, with reverend Richard Harper officiating. Burial followed at Lanier's Cemetery.
