Troy Gail Watts

Troy Gail Watts, 82, of Fowler died Saturday, Jan. 16 at Sangre de Cristo Hospice in Pueblo following treatment for cancer.
He was born Nov. 1, 1927 in La Junta, the son of Troy W. and Eva L. Mallows Watts. When he was sixteen he had his mother sign for him so that he could join the service. He first served in the U.S. Marines, then the U.S. Navy and finally he retired from the Seabees. He married Marie (Kenworthy) Meyer on Jan. 14, 1954 in Raton, New Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Debora Lynn Watts on Jan. 14, 1958.
He worked for various jobs including the La Junta Police Department; Colorado State Highway Department for five years in Westcliffe and Fowler; Pueblo Army Depot and for most of his life he drove 18-wheelers.
He is survived by his wife, Marie of the family home; daughters, Gale Ann Raymond of La Junta; Janice Dillon of Canon City; sons, James Watts, Fowler; Duane and Darrel Watts of Colorado Springs and their spouses. There are eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Fowler United Methodist Church with reverend Gary Goettel officiating. Griffy Family Funeral Home in Fowler is in charge or service arrangements.
