Antonia Diaz Salais
Antonia Diaz Salais, 69, longtime Fowler resident, died at her home Sunday April 25, 2010. She was born on April 27, 1940 in Zoquite, Zacatecas, Mexico. She was married to Luis Salais on March 17, 1960 in C.D. Juarez Mexico. She was a member of Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Fowler and had worked as a seamstress in Rocky Ford at Rocky Mountain Jeans Company.
She is survived by her husband Luis of the home; daughters Maria Salais (Pablo Gonzalez) of Kansas; Veronica Lozano of Kansas; Susana Salais (Salvador Tapia) of Texas and Antonia Alvarado (Alberto Alvarado) of Denver; three sons, Jose L. Salais of Fowler; Cesar Salais (Marsha Tubergen) of Missouri; and Robert C. Salais of Texas. Brothers Manuel Ortiz and Alejandro Diaz Ortiz of Mexico. Seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Juan Vasquez Ortiz and a sister Cleotilde Ortiz Cordero.
The Rosary and Vigil services will be a 7 p.m. Wednesday April 28, 2010 at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Fowler. The funeral Mass and Burial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday April 29, 2010 also at Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Fowler with Father Don Malin as celebrant of the mass.
The burial will be at the Lucero Cemetery near Nepesta immediately following the funeral.
