To The Editor:
All day every day there is traffic traveling at a high rate of speed on 6th Street, both coming into and out of town. The sign posted well outside the city limits is at 35 mph. Cars, truck, trailers, and semis, come flying past the park and the homes along here at 50+ miles per hour. This has been going on for years, and you would think that with the attention that the Fowler Police Department pays to the speed on the highway, that they would be more then happy to collect the money of the speeders along 6th Street. Unless its easier to take the money of strangers driving through then the money of our own citizens. Talk about a boost to the bottom line! I know several children that live along this road a most of the town's children play at the park, so wouldn't it stand to reason that we pay more attention to this area? I also have pets and recently one was hit and killed and no one had the decency to stop and tell me. I'm sure others have had the same misfortune. This is a problem that has been made aware to members of the police department, but has gone unheeded. Hopefully with this letter, something may finally be done about this problem.
Thank you,
Heather Anderson
