R4J Fowler School District Employees and Community:
The children of our School District have lost their greatest advocate, Dr. Larry Vibber. As the Board of Education, we are grieving and mourning the loss of a superintendent that possessed great passion and wisdom in leading our District over the past 47 years. Change is a difficult thing, and as we move forward into the 2009-2010 school year, we are mindful that this will be a year of transition and difficult decisions.
The Board of Education met last night to discuss the upcoming year and the necessary transitions. We are pleased to inform you that we have named Steven Grasmick as Interim Superintendent. The Board of Education is very fortunate to have such a strong administrative team with Steven, Russell Bates and Mike Thomas, to sustain and maintain the many workings of the School District. As a Board, we will be meeting with Colorado Association of School Board representatives to explore and discuss long term options for our District’s administrative structure.
We are confident that the R4J family will pull together to move forward through this transition in the very best Vibber tradition – “top notch”.
