It is with great community pride that I want to “Thank” all the individuals, the Rollin’ Clovers 4-H group, the TRAK high school students, Friends of the Library, and the Library Board for giving of their time and talents to help color code, bar code, enter into the computer and re-file the books of all our library holdings. This was a BIG undertaking, but so well worth it. Patrons now have computer access to view all our holdings and with the color coding system it’s quite visible where the groupings are located once you come in to the Library. We currently have 189 patrons registered and using the library, 32 of which are “Friends of the Library”.
The Kuhlman Estate of books (approx. 8,500) from Colorado Springs has been delivered and are stored in Park School building, thanks to Kyle McFarland and his family. Kyle is working on his Eagle Scout badge for this project. The shelving came with also, so now it’s just setting up the shelving and processing all these books. This collection will double our the size of our Library. All the books are in “pristine” condition, most never opened, and most all are non-fiction. We will start setting up shelves and begin the process after Summer Reading Program and Kyle returns from Scout camp, which will be the last week of July. Again we need help processing these books, as we hope to have a dedication with Mrs. Kuhlman in September or October.
Without community help this project would still be ”in process” and the Library would still be closed. Once again, a huge “Thank You “ to all who helped, everyone made a difference!
