The Fowler girls’ track team placed second with 74 points in the unrestricted division at the John Tate Challenge Cup over the weekend, behind first place Gunninson with 96 points.
Brooke Grissom literally “went the distance” placing fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:25.82 and seventh in the 1600 meter race with a time of 5:59.99. She also finished seventh in the 800 meter run and was on the fifth place 4 x 800 meter relay team, alongside Karlee Wager, Jessica Larson and Chelsey Wager.
April Gonzales was busy running the sprints throughout the weekend, finishing first in the 400 meter dash and third in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash. She also anchored the 400 meter relay to a second place finish with a time of 55.05.
Ashleigh Fox finished second in the 100 meter hurdles and Wager finished fifth in the 300 meter hurdles. Wager also placed fourth in the 800 meter run with a time 2:40. Larson placed sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.53. Cara Clock finished third in the triple jump and Jenna Hardy finished seventh in the long jump.
The girls 4 x 200 relay finished ninth with a time of 1:59.07 and the 4 x 400 relay finished 11th. The 800 sprint medley relay placed sixth.
The Grizzly boys placed 16th with nine points to tie the Swink Lions. Sprinter Dakota Parker placed third in 100 meter dash with a time of 11.85 and qualified for the 200 meter finals but did not run. Marcus Trujillo placed seventh in the 400 meter dash with a time of :57.
