The Valley ACS Monday Night Pool League in the Arkansas Valley recently completed its 22-week Spring session with an awards banquet at Scratch’s Pub in Fowler on Monday, June 16.  Thirteen teams with more than 96 players represented local businesses throughout the Arkansas Valley.  Sponsors in La Junta include La Bamba, Pastime, and BJ’s Sports Bar.  Sponsors in Rocky Ford include Krystal Lanes, R & R Night Club, and Johnny’s Tavern; and in Fowler, Scratch’s Pub.  

Awards were presented to the top three teams for the Spring session.  First place was awarded to Scratch’s Pub from Fowler, second to T.E.A.M. from Pastime, and third to Johnny’s Tavern from Rocky Ford.   The MVP for the Spring session was Chad Snook from Scratch’s.

Following dinner and award presentation, the annual meeting for the league was held with the election of officers for the upcoming year.   Jerry Cavender was elected President and Kerry Rogers was elected Secretary/Treasurer.

The Summer session is slated to begin on Monday, July 7, 2008 with a team captain’s meeting set for Sunday, June 29 at 5 p.m. at R & R Night Club in Rocky Ford.   All interested captains and players are invited to attend.  If anyone is interested in joining a team or forming a team, contact Jerry Cavender, President at 254-2492 or Kerry Rogers, Secretary/Treasurer at 383-2062.
