Sean Fox has been around foreign exchange students because his uncle Tim Baublits is a host parent with the E F Foundation’s high school student exchange program.
And now, he has the opportunity to become a foreign exchange student himself.
Fox, a junior at CSU-Pueblo, became interested in traveling when he visited with a former exchange student.
While meeting up with one of his uncle’s host sons, Patrick Wladirminski, who is originally from Sao Paolo, Brazil, Wladirminski, told him to come visit him at school in Spain.
Fox filed the paperwork mid-semester and he got the okay to go to Barcelona where he will be studying Spanish and strategic management as part of his business curriculum.
“I have been in contact with my uncle’s former host sons and have a lot of people to see in addition to studying,” Fox said.
Fox will be studying at the University Autonoma de Barcelona where he will also take a class on Barcelona that will teach him what it was and what it has become today.
Fox said as long as he is a student at CSU - Pueblo, he can keep putting in applications for placement abroad as much as he wants and as long as he has completed 30 credits at CSU.
“When in doubt go bigger. When I am trying to make a decision I go for it. Like going to Spain,” he said.
