Independence Day is almost here, which means millions of dads across the country are already itching to break out those red, white, and blue koozies, throw a few hot dogs on the grill, and impress all the neighborhood kids with how quickly they can scuttle up the driveway after lighting their fireworks. This is 'Murica day, y'all!
But for those who prefer to enjoy all those pyrotechnics from a safe distance, not to worry: Macy's 43rd annual Fourth of July celebration will feature a ton of colorful explosions, and even if you're not close enough to take in the show from the safety of your own window, you can still tune in at home.
Here's everything you need to know about this Fourth of July fireworks show.
What to expect: Macy's fireworks show will air live from around the Brooklyn Bridge in New York for the first time since 2014, with the first round bursting in the air at around 9:20/8:20c. The show will include a 1,600-foot-long waterfall of fireworks that spans the length of the bridge towers, 70,000 effects launching from the barges surrounding the site, and some new showpieces including the Wolf Whistle, Little Snakes, Hidden Happy Faces, Revolving Dragons, and some Multicolor Meteor Mines.
The pre-show: Before we see any of those rockets' red glare, the show will begin with some American-as-apple-pie entertainment. The pre-show, which begins at 8/7c, is hosted by Ciara and Derek Hough. Expect to see acts from them as well as Luke Bryan, Khalid, Maren Morris, and Brad Paisley, as well as a special performance of "Over the Rainbow" by Jennifer Hudson, which commemorates the 80th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz.
How to watch: NBC will broadcast the show live and on its streaming service, starting at 8/7c. (Viewers will need a cable provider's information in order to stream.) Earth Cam will also host its traditional livestream, sans the commentary.
For those who do happen to be in the New York area and want to catch the show in person, there are several prime spots in lower Manhattan that offer the best vantage points for viewing.Macy's 4th of July celebration" data-image-credit="Jackson Lee/Getty Images" data-image-alt-text="‹Macy's 4th of July celebration" data-image-credit-url="" data-image-target-url="" data-image-title="‹Macy's 4th of July celebration" data-image-filename="fireworks-reg.jpg" data-image-date-created="2019/07/02" data-image-crop="" data-image-crop-gravity="" data-image-aspect-ratio="" data-image-height="1380" data-image-width="2070" data-image-do-not-crop="" data-image-do-not-resize="" data-image-watermark="" data-lightbox="">
