At their regularly scheduled Town Council meeting the board of trustees voted unanimously declaring November 2014 Hospice and Palliative Care Month. In the proclamation Mayor Hitchcock called upon the citizens of Fowler, Colorado, to join Arkansas Valley Hospice Inc. to increase their understanding and awareness of end of life care and to observe this month with appropriate activities and programs.
The following Police Report was given to the board:
-provided traffic control
-community policing event
-two agency assists
-three traffic citations
-possible burglary in progress in the 400 block of West Cranston (unfounded)
-possible burglary in progress in the 300 block of 8th Street (unfounded)
-two adult protective services notifications
-suspicious persons contact in the 100 block of West Cranston
-responded to a suicidal party
-trespasser removed from private party
-four traffic warnings
-responded to an assault call
-located a sex offender in violation of their registration
-provided citizen assist
In unfinished business the board of trustees:
-moved the Town of Fowler sign to following meeting
-approved bid from Taylor Fence Company for the horseshoe pit fence
-approved resolution 907-14 A resolution modifying the definition of a capital outlay
-paid invoices 93917 and 94453 to TTG finishing out the Main Street Project
In new business the board of trustees approved the following:
-Ark Valley Hospice Proclamation – Declaring November 2014 Hospice Month
-ordinance 703-14 new tap fees - $4,000 for all water taps and must be used within 18 months of purchase
-resolution 908-14 authorizing a transfer of funds from the water facility fee account to the water operating account
-resolution 909-14 appropriating additional sums of money to defray expenses in excess of amounts budgeted for the town of Fowler
-resolution 910-14 authorizing the purchase of new weapons for the police department and disposition of old weapons
-liquor license renewal for Loaf 'N Jug #1
