New to the Arkansas Valley this year is the first ever Lewis Bolt & Nut Color Me 5K-Razy FUN Run! Thanks to the sponsorship of Lewis Bolt & Nut, this run, known as “The Happiest 5K on the Planet”, will soon be here for the community to enjoy!

Check-in for Lewis Bolt & Nut’s 1st Annual Color Me 5K-Razy FUN Run/Walk begins at 7:30 a.m. on race day at 6th and Grace (back lot of InspirationField) in La Junta. The race starts at 9 a.m. sharp! Pre-registrations for the run/walk are currently being accepted online at www.inspirationfield.org; forms may be dropped off at 612 Adams, La Junta; or participants may sign up the morning of the event. The adult entry fee is $25 if registered by April 15 and $30 after the deadline. The entry fee for kids 17 and under is $15 and $20 after the same deadline. Be sure to check out the route online at www.inspirationfield.org. There will be goody bags and T-shirts in addition to prizes for the best costume, most original and largest participating group.

“We are very grateful to Lewis Bolt & Nut for choosing to sponsor this new event for the whole community to enjoy, as well as the time and commitment they have given to make it a part of our Cinco de Mayo Celebration,” stated Johnnie DeLeon, chief executive officer. “The Colorado State Patrol and the La Junta Chamber of Commerce played a huge role in the planning of this event and we at InspirationField can’t wait to see the fun and assortment of color running through the streets of La Junta.”

Color Runs have taken the world by storm and soon La Junta will get its piece of a psychedelic good time! The day will begin relatively clean as runners are highly encouraged to dress in complete white because at every kilometer, cornstarch-based color will be thrown on the runners creating a rainbow of bliss to run through. This run is an untimed event that is all about having fun. Cross the finish line and you will be greeted by blasting music, and the party will be far from over as you are invited to stay, dance and snap pictures to remember this epic adventure.

Lewis Bolt & Nut has purchased all the color to put on this great event, the Colorado State Patrol is donating towels, La Junta Chamber of Commerce is donating sunglasses, and InspirationField is donating T-shirts for each participant.

A huge thank-you goes out to Lewis Bolt & Nut, Colorado State Patrol, La Junta Chamber of Commerce, and InspirationField for the sponsoring of this race. Also, thank you to Joe Ayala, Angela Ayala, Kara Copley, Scott Copley, Audri Trujillo, Tim Knabenshue, Rosa Salo, Caitlin Coffield, and Johnnie DeLeon for their hard work and planning to bring this great event to the valley and make it a part of InspirationField’s 9th Annual La Junta Tribune-Democrat Cinco de Mayo Celebration.
