As summer classes come to a close at Otero Junior College, preparations for fall semester move into high gear. There are just three weeks left to register before classes begin on Monday, Aug. 17.

New and returning students are encouraged to register as soon as possible for the best chance at getting the courses and schedule they need.

According to Jeff Paolucci, vice president of Student Services, there is still time to enroll.

“We are coming down to the wire, but there is still room in most of our academic courses and career and technical education programs for new students,” said Paolucci. “We are a one-stop-shop in Student Services, so if students come in the next few weeks, we will personally help them enroll in the college, chart out a course of study, get registered and start the financial aid process,” he said. “If students have already registered for classes and need to make schedule changes, we can also help them with that.”

Students will need to order all books or material required for courses through the virtual bookstore online site. Books will not be available on campus. The virtual bookstore site allows students to buy new or used books, rent books or purchase E-books. The virtual bookstore is accessed online at: www.ecampus.com/ojc or through the “Bookstore” link on OJC’s website at: www.ojc.edu/about/campus/bookstore.

The books and materials will be delivered to the student’s home or specific mailing address, including their OJC dorm address within a 24-hour period.

If a student intends to use financial aid to purchase their books before the end of July, that student must communicate with OJC’s Financial Aid office, for consultation and approval. Upon approval the student will have access to their financial aid money to pay for their books online. Students receiving financial aid should call 384-6834 or email angela.moore@ojc.edu to gain approval for the release of their funds. For more information contact the Student Services Center at 384-6831 or visit OJC on the Web at www.ojc.edu.
