This month we bought in new books by favorite authors such as Stuart Woods, Nora Roberts, Danielle Steel and Sherryl Woods, also books for young adult readers as well as plenty of new books for children of preschool and elementary school age. Finally, we got a couple of nonfiction books in by Lesley Stahl and Kimberly Williams-Paisly. Stahl's book is on the joys and science of becoming a grandparent and William-Paisly's book is about coping with her mom's form of dementia and how her family deals with the ups and downs of the disease.

This month ended the AARP tax prep program, and we are delighted to say they filed more taxes this year than last year. The means we will be able to host them next year. That means being able to file your taxes for free. It was a great success for them.

Lastly, we are still looking for volunteers for the summer reading program. We have had a few people say they will help, but we can always use more. It will be held on Thursdays in June starting June 2 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The final day where we have our entertainment and we hand out the grand prizes will be on Thursday, July 5, and will run from 10 a.m. to around noon. We need volunteers to help with crafts, games and reading. Also to make sure they get from station to station and to help with registration. If you are unable to help in this area, we could always use donations such as fun toys or games for prizes they could win for reading so many hours. We could also use gift cards or services from local businesses. We are trying to have more prizes to be used in town for the children. Please stop by the library or call us at 263-4472 for any questions or to volunteer. We will try to have a meeting next month for all volunteers to go over what we will be doing. Until then, I hope everyone enjoys reading a good book.
