The Gary V Sharp Memorial Golf Tournament, held at Cottonwood Links, was once again a smashing success for those who played as well as those who joined players for the dinner and auction that followed.

Funds raised for this tournament support the Fowler High School Women's and Men's Golf teams and the GVS Memorial Scholarship. It was great to see young teamed up with old, families teamed up and even a couple all female teams at this event.

Lifelong friend of Gary, Jewell Steinbeck was the Grand Marshal for the GVS tournament. Jewell, who is currently battling cancer, hit the ceremonial first golf shot off of hole No. 1 with his putter. For all in attendance it was the best part of the tournament.

For those that played there was a famous Gary V. Sharp quote, and served as an amazing reminder about the Gary that they grew up around, played golf with, or were lifelong friends with.

The GVS crew would like to thank their numerous hole sponsors, golfers, and the manybehind the scenes that cooked cleaned and helped in other ways. Speaking from experience, if you have never played in a golf tournament and want to give it a try the GVS is for you; mark you calendars for June 3 and 4, 2017.
