The primary tasks of parents are the nurturance and guidance of children. Parenting is one of the most important jobs parents undertake, but parents do not receive specific training for this job. For the most part, we adopt parenting techniques based on the way we were parented.

The Partners In Parenting Program has been designed to help families learn parenting skills that promote the healthy development of children. This program strives to build stronger communities, by empowering individuals and supporting families. By participating in the Partners In Parenting Program, parents can: increase their understanding of the stages of child development, develop effective communication skills, obtain discipline strategies, recognize risks and protective factors, understand concepts of resiliency and the developmental assets framework.

Tri-County Family Care Center will be sponsoring a 6 week series of Partners In Parenting classes on Thursdays beginning June 30th through August 4th from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. The class will be taught by Lauri Smith at the Tri-County Family Care Center office, 512 ½ N Main Street in Rocky Ford.
