The Otero Junior College golf teams participated in the Northeastern Junior College Invitational, which took place this past Thursday and Friday.

The Lady Rattlers finished first in the women's tournament with a score of 698. Maddee Jo Godfrey placed the highest for OJC as she was second with a two-day score of 167. Breanne Buchner was fourth with a 176, Malena Berchot was fifth with a 179, Kylie Brixey was sixth with a 180 and Sirena Maynes was seventh with a 181.

Central Wyoming College finished a distant second with 765. Northeastern did not record a team score.

Central Wyoming's Bailee Watt was the medalist with a 162.

Otero placed third in the men's tournament with 610. The Rattlers finished behind Eastern Wyoming College with 602 and McCook (Nebraska) Community College with 609. Rounding out the team scoring were Central Wyoming with 620, Lamar with 649 and Northeastern with 687.

Leading the Rattlers was Jace Peterson, who was third with a 148. Trey Massey tied for fourth with a 150, David Walter tied for sixth with a 151, Alfred Andrews tied for ninth with a 153, Bryce Tickner tied for 18th with a 157, Dylan Green tied for 21st with a 159, Dillon O'Neal tied for 23rd with a 163 and Collin O'Neal tied for 29th with a 169.

Eastern Wyoming's Calum Giffen was the medalist with a 143.

The next tournament is the Lamar Invitational, which will take place Thursday and Friday at the Spreading Antlers Golf Course.
