COLORADO CITY — The La Junta High School boys' golf team finished in second place at the Pueblo County Invitational, which took place Friday at Hollydot Golf course.

The Tigers had a team score of 327, finishing behind only Cheyenne Mountain with 314. La Junta finished six strokes ahead of third-place Lamar which scored 333.

Cody Schrock led the Tigers as he finished tied for fifth with a six-over-par 77. Jay Paolucci tied for 11th with an 81, Chance Oquist tied for 14th with an 84 and Nate Paolucci tied for 17th with an 85.

Fowler also competed at the tournament and it finished 12th with 408. Andrew Egan was the Grizzlies' top finisher as he tied for fifth with a 77. Christian Marsh was 39th with a 93, Steven Hildreth tied for 67th with a 115 and Aaron Hildreth was 74th with a 123.

Cheyenne Mountain's Keaton Hulin and Trinidad's Lance Peters tied for first place with a one-over-par 72 each. Hulin was named the medalist after a scorecard playoff.

Fowler, along with Rocky Ford, will compete at the Lamar Invitational today. La Junta's next tournament is the Pueblo South Invitational on Wednesday.
