LAMAR — Only seven teams participated in this year's Lamar Invitational, but two of the teams were from Otero County as Fowler finished in third place and Rocky Ford fourth Tuesday at Spreading Antlers Golf Course.

Leading the Grizzlies was Andrew Egan, who finished fifth with a five-over-par 75. Christian Marsh was 14th with a 105, Steven Hildreth was 15th with a 106 and Aaron Hildreth was 26th with a 131.

The Meloneers were led by Josh Johnson, who was 11th with a 101. Levi Collins tied for 12th with a 104 and Jacob Effird was 27th with a 136.

Cheyenne Mountain won the team championship with 215, followed by Lamar with 231. Fowler scored 286, Rocky Ford 341, Pueblo County 343 and Eads 372. Trinidad did not record a team score.

Lamar's Jimmy Clark and Cheyenne Mountain's Keaton Hulen tied for first place as both shot a 68, which is two under par. Clark took medalist honors on a scorecard playoff.

Fowler and Rocky Ford will next compete at the Rocky Mountain Invitational on Saturday. La Junta will also send a JV team to that tournament.
