COLORADO SPRINGS — The La Junta High School boys' golf team wrapped up the regular season by finishing fourth in the third and final Tri-Peaks League tournament of the season Thursday at Springs Ranch Golf Club.

The Tigers finished with a score of 254. St. Mary's won the tournament with 240, Cheyenne Mountain was second with 245 and Lamar was third with 248.

Leading La Junta were Chance Oquist and Jay Paolucci, who both tied for eighth with an 84. Nate Paolucci tied for 10th with an 86 and Cody Schrock tied for 12th with an 87.

Peter Stinar of St. Mary's was the medalist with a two-under-par 69. Lamar's Jimmy Clark and Brock Reedy tied for second with a 78.

St. Mary's won the league championship with a three-tournament score of 720. Lamar was second with 733 and La Junta was third with 743.

Jay Paolucci finished fifth in the individual standings with 235. Schrock tied for sixth with 244, and Oquist and Nate Paolucci tied for 10th with 268.

La Junta and Fowler's Andrew Egan will next compete at the Class 3A State Tournament next Monday and Tuesday at the Boulder Country Club. Golf begins at 9 a.m. both days.

The tee times for each of the state tournaments were posted on the web site earlier this week.

Jay Paolucci will tee off at 9 a.m. on Hole 10. Cody Schrock will tee off at 9:09 a.m. on Hole 10. Andrew Egan tees off at 9:18 a.m. on Hole 1. Chance Oquist will tee off at 9:18 a.m. on Hole 10. Nate Paolucci tees off at 9:27 on Hole 10.
