The Otero Junior College volleyball team rose one spot on the National Junior College Athletic Association Division 1 poll as the Lady Rattlers went from 20th to 19th.

OJC debuted in the Top 20 two weeks ago at No. 19. It fell to 20th last week.

Miami Dade (Fla.) stayed in the No. 1 position, followed by Iowa Western, Salt Lake (Utah), Southern Idaho and Mineral Area (Mo.). Rounding out the Top 10 are Polk State (Fla.), Snow (Utah), Navarro (Texas), Seward County (Kan.) and Trinity Valley (Texas).

The rest of the Top 10 has Tyler (Texas) at No. 11, followed by St. Petersburg (Fla.), Panola (Texas), Hill (Texas), New Mexico Military, Colby (Kan.), Daytona State (Fla.), Santa Fe (Fla.), Otero and Arizona Western.

Two other NJCAA Region IX schools, Northeastern and Western Nebraska, are listed as "others receiving votes," along with Blinn (Texas) and Central Florida.

Otero is 21-2 overall and 4-1 in the Region IX South.

The Lady Rattlers play three road games this week. On Thursday, they will play Western Nebraska in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Friday, they will play at McCook (Neb.) and on Saturday, they will play Northeastern in Sterling.
