A Pueblo man is dead following a motorcycle crash early Saturday evening in Belmont.

The victim has been identified by Pueblo County Coroner Brian Cotter as 26-year-old Jacob Romo.

According to Pueblo police, Romo had been traveling in the area of Constitution Road and Norwood Avenue at approximately 3:15 p.m. when a pickup truck pulled out in front of him, causing him to crash.

Romo, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.

Police say excessive speed on the part of Romo was likely a factor in the accident. They continue to investigate.
