The Fowler High School girls' basketball team won one game, but lost the other this past weekend.
On Friday, the Lady Grizzlies defeated Swallows Charter Academy 60-13, buth they lost to Rocky Ford 49-40.
Both games were at Grizzly Gym.
Rocky Ford 60, Swallows Charter Academy 13
The Lady Grizzlies took a 20-7 lead after the first quarter. They scored 18 points in the second quarter and shut out the Lady Spartans for a 38-7 lead at the half.
Fowler led 52-11 after three quarters of play and it outscored Swallows 8-2 in the final quarter.
Three Lady Grizzlies scored in double figures and they were led by Jayden Osborne with 12 points. Isabella Proctor and Kaley Pieper both scored 10.
Rocky Ford 49, Fowler 40
The Lady Meloneers had a 14-9 lead after the first quarter. They then outscored the Lady Grizzlies 14-12 in the second period for a 28-21 lead at the intermission.
Fowler outscored Rocky 9-7 in the third to cut the lead to deficit to 35-30. However, the Lady Meloneers outscored the Lady Grizzlies 14-10 in the fourth.
Individual statistics were unavailable.
Fowler (3-7, 2-3 Santa Fe League) will play two road games this week. On Friday, the Lady Grizzlies will travel to Walsenburg to face John Mall with the first contest to begin at 4 p.m. On Saturday, they will play at Calhan in a nonleague game beginning at 1 p.m.
