According to Otero County Sheriff Shawn Mobley, 64 calls for service have been responded to by his deputies since the sudden collapse of the Fowler Police Department last Thursday.
“I am certain that the Town of Fowler can get some good help hired, but in the meantime, my deputies and I are here to assist in anyway we can," said Mobley.
"We want to assure the Fowler community that they are safe.
“We are keeping deputies on the far west side of the county to help reduce response time to Fowler calls. Our response time can be anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes.” Mobley said.
