Geraldine Norma (Geri) Fellhauer, 73, of Manzanola, Colo., passed away Friday, February 15, 2019, at UCHealth, Colorado Springs, Colo.
Geraldine was born in Las Animas, Colo., on June 8, 1945, a daughter of the late Norma Rachel (Karr) and Wayne Loyd Smart. She attended schools in the Kim area.
She was the wife of Harvey Dean Fellhauer. They were married February 28, 1964, in La Junta.
Geri 2 worked for Fowler Healthcare for J.C. Penney's for 20, while building D&D Trucking with her husband, Dean. After leaving J.C. Penney, she found her true passion as a substitute teacher/Grandma extraordinaire.
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors in the early years. When her kids were ready to join 4-H, she became a leader for many years.
Geri enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, traveling with her husband, watching the PBR and attending PBR events. She also enjoyed dancing, flower arranging and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Dean, of the home; son, Dale (Jammie) Fellhauer, of Manzanola, Colo.; daughter Wendy Karr, of Colorado Springs, Colo. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was also very close to a sister and brother-in-law and a cousin.
Geri was preceded in death by her parents,; brother, Loyd Smart; mother and father-in-lawm Harvey & Edith Fellhauer; and a sister-in-law, Melverta Bauer.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 22, at First Christian Church of Manzanola in Manzanola, Colo., with Pastor John Dell officiating. The family requests those attending dress casual. Inurnment will be private at a later time.
