The Class 2A District 6 boys' basketball tournament semifinals took place on Tuesday at several different venues.

The games included fourth-ranked Fowler defeating Rye 65-30, Rocky Ford over Swallows Charter Academy 53-34, John Mall over Crowley County 61-41 and top-ranked Holly over Hoehner 67-43.

Fowler led 17-6 after the first quarter, 35-12 at halftime and 48-19 after three quarters of play.

Three Grizzlies scored in double figures. Val Leone led with 14 points, and Quinton Flanscha and Johnanthan Mobbley both scored 13.

No additional information was available for the other three games.

The final four for both the boys' and girls' brackets. The semifinals will take place Thursday at La Junta High Schools' Tiger Gym.

For the girls, fourth-ranked Swink will play Fowler at 3 p.m. and Rocky Ford will play eighth-ranked Rye at 6 p.m.

In the boys' semifinals, Holly will play John Mall at 4:30 p.m. and Rocky Ford will play Fowler at 7:30 p.m.

The third place and championship games for both brackets will be Friday also at Tiger Gym.

All four teams that reached the semifinals in both divisions have qualified for regional play next week.
