The Cheraw School Board voted Monday night to send several groups of outstanding students belonging to Future Business Leaders of America, Family, Careers, and Community Leaders of America and Future Farmers of America to Fall Leadership, Nationals, State Leadership and the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.
Tamra Collins is sponsor of the FBLA and Jennifer Snyder sponsor of the FCCLA. Tim Provost is sponsor of the FFA.
The FBLA opted to attend the nationals in Denver in Nov. 1-16 instead of the October meeting. The club had raised its own traveling money and just needed permission to go to the conference. They were approved.
The FCCLA thanked the school board for allowing them to attend the Nationals in Washington, D.C., in July 2020.
The FFA was approved to attend the State Leadership Conference in Colorado Springs Oct. 12-13, and also approved to attend the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., on Oct. 27. They will be going to the State Rangeland Meet at Burlington today.
In other business, substitute teachers approved for the 2019-20 school year are Dawna Cunningham, Rae Ann Waggoner, Pauline Goff, Joan Moore, Rachel Nason, Adelaide Efird, Christina Lucero, Rob Marshall, Faith Stuart, Meira Stanger, Leon Davis, Eric Jakus, Diana Hansen, Somer Stoker and Tina Hall.
