Manzanola 20 20 7 6 -53
Primero 0 0 0 0 -0

The Bobcats took to the pavement this past Friday and headed up Highway 12 for a league game against the Primero Bulldogs. The early results were what the visitors had hoped for with a 40-0 halftime lead.

“We made some adjustments on the defensive side of the ball and moved some people around a bit,” commented Bobcats coach Scott Egan.

Those moves were very effective, to say the least, through the rest of the game. The Bobcats defense put up two more bagels on the Bulldogs side of the scoreboard while scoring another 13 points to go on to win in a romp 53-0. Four Bobcats were in double figures in the tackle department and the staunch defensive effort on the night with Daniel Escarano getting 13, Dalton Carroll 13, Jeffrey Knutson 11 and J.J. Horn with 10.

“The kids responded well and everyone did their job,” added coach Egan. “Offensively we simplified and stayed on our blocks. We are starting to come together and are constantly striving toward playing as a team.”

Manzanola individual offensive stats on the night were: Axel Escareno 2-2 passing for 71 yards; Daniel Escareno 3-4 passing for 90 yards; Rushing - A. Escareno 6-148 yards; Receiving - Dalton Carroll 3-135 yards; Scoring - A Escxareno 3 TDs, Daniel Caroll 2
TDs, Blake Williams 1 TD, D. Escxareno 1 TD.
