After a week on the sidelines the Fowler 3-0 Football team jumped back into the action this past Friday against Holly on the Wildcats home turf. It was the first Arkansas Valley league game for the Grizzlies eight-man crew after winning big in their first three non-conference contests.
The action early on was very competitive with an 8-6 edge going to Holly after the initial eight minutes. The second and third quarters were a different kettle of fish with the visiting Fowler team taking a commanding lead at 38-22 with one quarter left.
The Grizzlies defense shut down all offensive efforts by the Wildcats while their offense went ballistic scoring 30 additional points to put an exclamation point on the nights action.
The final a lopsided victory for Fowler at 68-22.
Luke Bitter had a busy night against the Wildcats defensive efforts throwing for 126 yards on 8-15 passing, resulting in two touchdowns. Joshua Daniels kept himself busy as well rushing for 174 yards on 14 carries and a game high four touchdowns.
Other individual stats were: Jackson Bates 5 rushes for 168 yards; Johnathan Mobbley 5 receptions for 46 yards, Braxton Bates 2 receptions for 21 yards, Daniels 2 receptions for 56 yards; Gabriel Proctor 10 solo and 14 assisted tackles; Thor Schiffer 2 sacks for 14 yards lost.
The Hoehne Farmers and their football and track complex will be the destination this Friday for the undefeated fourth ranked 4-0 Grizzlies. The Farmers are 2-0 in Arkansas Valley 8-Man Football League play so far this season and should provide
a real test for the Fowler-8.
