The Colorado High School Activities Association released its state football playoff brackets for Class 5A, 2A, 1A and eight-man on Sunday.

The brackets are posted on the web site.

Three local teams puched their tickets to play in the postseason.

In Class 2A, defending state champion La Junta enters as the 14th seed and it will travel to Loveland to face third-seeded Resurrection Christian.

Three other Tri-Peaks League teams advanced to the state playoffs.

Lamar is the seventh seed and it will host 10th-seeded Eaton. The Classical Academy is the eighth seed and it will host ninth-seeded Basalt. Elizabeth is the 12th seed and it will travel to Faith Christian, the fifth seed.

In Class 1A, Santa Fe League champion Rocky Ford enters as the 15th seed, and it will travel to Holyoke, the second seed.

In eight-man football, Fowler is the third seed and it will host 14th-seeded Simla.

Another Arkansas Valley League team, Holly, is the 15th seed and it will travel to Sanford, the second seed. Also, Southern League champion Pikes Peak Christian, the seventh seed, will host 10th-seeded Sargent.

Bearcats win first playoff game

The Branson/Kim co-op football team is in the six-man playoffs for the first time in its history and the Bearcats won their first-ever postseason game as they defeated Briggsdale 52-20 Saturday in Branson.

Branson Kim (8-1) will play second-seeded Stratton/Liberty in the state quarterfinals on Saturday. The Bearcats will be on the road.
