The Fowler boy’s basketball team returned to action this past Saturday with the fourth ranked Grizzlies hosting the seventh ranked Holly Wildcats in an important Santa Fe League match-up. Fowler jumped to a half-time lead of 27-19, but Holly later tied the game up and went ahead midway through the third quarter. Fowler regained the lead and never looked back. An explosive fourth quarter of 26 points by the Grizzlies doomed the Wildcats and the final score was 66-49.

Senior Gabriel Proctor 18 points on 6-13 shooting 46 percent from the field; Val Leone 16 points on 6-19 shooting for 32 percent from the field; J. Mobbley 17 point on 7-12 shooting for 58 percent from the field; Leone and Mobbley 12 rebounds each. Team free throw shooting was an impressive 12-17 in the game.

Val Leone at present is ranked 10 th in Colorado Class 2/A points per/game at 18.8.

The Grizzlies at 3-0 are tied with Hoehne and Crowley County, all undefeated, in the nine team Santa Fe League standings.

Next up for the Fowler five will be two league games starting Friday against Swallow Hill Academy 4-5 followed by a Saturday match-up against league opponent Rocky Ford 1-8.
