With high winds and low moisture as current climate conditions, a red-flag warning has been issued from 11 a.m. through 8 p.m. today for southeastern Colorado, from Colorado Springs to Trinidad, including the counties of Pueblo, Otero, and Fremont.

"Please avoid all activities that involve open flames or that could cause a spark. If a fire starts, the fire will grow rapidly and will be difficult to contain," the National Weather Service of Pueblo states on its website.

Winds in the area are expected to be at 20-30 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph. The current humidity is 8%, according to the Weather Service.
