Pueblo Tinseltown to reopen Friday
Pueblo's Cinemark Tinseltown movie theater is finally set to reopen Friday after a prolonged closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cinemark announced Tuesday that all of its Colorado movie theaters, including its Pueblo location at 4140 N. Freeway Road, would open Friday with enhanced cleanliness, sanitizing and safety measures.
The theater, according to Cinemark Holdings, will reopen in accordance with state and local guidelines surrounding COVID-19.
On Monday, Pueblo was one of 33 Colorado counties to move from Level Red to Level Orange on Colorado's COVID-19 dial.
The new classification comes with reduced restrictions and allows indoor seated events and entertainment — like movie theaters — to reopen at either 25% capacity or 50 people, whichever is fewer.
Pueblo's lone movie theater first closed in mid-March and was shuttered for about five months. It reopened in mid-August but closed once more a short time later.
Upon reopening, Cinemark theaters will be feature new releases like "Wonder Woman 1984," "News of the World," "Promising Young Woman," "Monster Hunter," and others, as well as older, classic movies.
