Swink spirit squad wins Colorado 2A/3A state championship

Swink High School won the Class 2A/3A Division at the Colorado High School Activities Association Spirit Competition Thursday at the Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs.
Swink won the Game Day competition with 83.80 points, more than six points ahead of runner-up Bishop Machebeuf with 77.15.
The members of the squad include Kyle Bierbaum, Bridget Brisco, Lindsey Brisco, Savannah Butler, Dawn Diaz, Halie French, Anisa Gonzales, Jade Hunter, Cashly Jacquart, Addie Johnston, Makayla Taullie, and Morgann Turner. They are coached by Renee Hunter.
Rounding out the finalists were Resurrection Christian with 69.10, Florence with 68.60, Strasburg with 67.90, Lutheran with 67.45 and Englewood with 62.80.
Other local schools that competed but did not make the finals were Crowley County, which finished 10th with 60.90 points, and Rocky Ford, which was 18th with 57.40.
