Buentello: It Has Been an Honor to Serve HD47
PUEBLO, CO-- State Representative Bri Buentello today released the following statement after conceding the election in House District 47:
“While we await the final tally, it’s become clear that we do not have the votes to win re-election to House District 47. It has been an incredible honor to serve as your state representative these last two years, and I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished. We tackled the opioid crisis, worked on increasing access to affordable healthcare, and invested in rural economic development, as well as our public schools.
“I want to extend my immeasurable gratitude to my tireless staff, volunteers, and all who
supported this campaign.
“While we have lost this House race, we are celebrating the greater results across our state and nation. And our nation will build back better.
“On a national scale, by continuing the democratic House majority, and expanding our number of seats in the Senate, Americans held the line and halted the march of the politics of division, rooted in fear, racism, and lies. By electing Joe Biden our 46th president, the majority of voters took a step forward towards a return to politics of issues, rooted in optimism, fairness, and truth.
“At the state level, Coloradans expanded the democratic Senate majority, and maintained our House majority. I am confident that the new legislature will pass a bold progressive agenda that will empower our economic recovery, and strengthen the economic security of Colorado’s working families. As they do so, I will continue to be involved in the fight for our Southern Colorado families.”
