Twelve Arkansas Valley high school basketball players — six boys and six girls — were named to their respective All-State teams by the Colorado High School Activities Association.

The All-State teams were posted on the CHSAANow.com website on Wednesday.

Fowler senior Val Leone was the only area player to be a first-team selection as he was named on the Class 2A team. Also on the 2A team are Crowley County junior Terrance McNeil and Rocky Ford sophomore Izaiah Tapia, both of whom were honorable mention selections.

La Junta junior Trent Johnston was an honorable mention selection on the Class 3A team.

Rounding out the boys selections were Cheraw senior Trey Pearce, who was a second-team selection on the Class 1A team, and his sophomore teammate Braeden Harris, who was honorable mention.

For the local girls, Rocky Ford senior Abi Snyder was a second-team selection in Class 2A. Also on the Class 2A team is her senior teammate Teagan Mendoza-Werner, who was honorable mention.

The rest of the area girls are honorable mention on the Class 1A team. The list includes McClave junior Anna Beckett, Manzanola sophomore Emma Martinez, and Sidney Goode and A.J. Winford, both of whom are Kim/Branson seniors.
