News to know

After some back-and-forth between the courts and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Occupy Wall Street protesters on Tuesday were banned from camping at lower Manhattan's Zuccotti Park. Police swept the park around 5 p.m. EST, and protesters will be allowed to return but not camp there overnight. Bloomberg said health and safety conditions had become "intolerable" around the plaza where protesters have stayed for two months.

Quote of note

"For the last 24 hours, many people have reported seeing highly-offensive images on their Facebook news feeds. But exactly how those images got there and what cause them to appear, is still somewhat of a mystery," said Graham Cluley, a senior technology consultant at antivirus vendor Sophos, in an interview early Tuesday about a possible "clickjacking" on the social media site. Later Tuesday, a Facebook spokeswoman confirmed the "coordinated spam attack."
